Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) has excellent eating, shopping and disabled facilities within its one main terminal building, including a large duty-free store.

The terminal building serve many different airlines, travelling from Amsterdam to a large number of different destinations.

There are also an enormous range of airport services and amenities at Schiphol within the terminal, including a large business centre, currency exchange counters, comprehensive banking services, conference facilities, airport information desks and ATM cashpoints.

Amsterdam Airport information desks are situated close to the passport control area in Schiphol Plaza and Lounges 2 and 3, and also in the arrivals halls 2 and 3. These information desks at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) provide a wide range of airport information, including that latest airport flight arrivals and departures times, information on transfers and connecting flights, travel to and from Schiphol Airport, directions, maps, brochures and general tourist information about Amsterdam. There are also a number of automated self-service information points, with touch screens and useful airport information.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets


Amsterdam Airport has excellent shopping facilities within the Amsterdam Schiphol Plaza, located and either side of the airport's immigration area and open daily between 07:00 to 22:00. Shops at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) include a luggage shop, newsagents, gift shops selling tourist souvenirs, many high-street stores and also a large duty-free shop, selling tax free hoods, such as wines, beers, spirits, cigarettes, perfume and cameras.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


There are numerous places to eat at Amsterdam Schiphol, including a good selection of airport cafés, restaurants and fast-food outlets. There are a selection of excellent restaurants situated in the airport's arrivals, departures hall and at the airport's Schiphol Plaza, providing a variety of different cuisine. Cafés and fast-food outlets are located throughout Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) and providing hot drinks and snack food. Many of the airport's bars also serve some food and alcoholic drinks. There are also a number of vending machines situated throughout the airport.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities


Currency exchange and banking facilities are available and there are a number of ATM cashpoints located throughout the airport, available 24 hours a day. There are also numerous banks at Schiphol, providing a comprehensive international banking service, and one main bureau de charge outlet and several smaller counters, where you can obtain competitive rates of currency exchange. Other AMS facilities include a post office in the airport's Lounge 2, post boxes situated around the terminal building, public telephones and mobile phone rental.

Business and conference facilities are available at Schiphol and there are a wide range of services provided by Amsterdam Airport, such as the Schiphol Business Centre, situated in the airport's Central Lounge on the top floor. There are also several business offices that can be hired and these have facilities such as computers, fax machines, telephones and a secretarial service. Schiphol has a large conference room which is open during the week from 08:30 to 17:30 meeting rooms can be hired on the eighth floor of the Skyport buildings.

The airport also has a popular Communications Centre, in the Lounge 2 area. Open every day between 06:00 to 22:00, the Schiphol Airport's Communications Centre includes computers, Internet access, telephones, small office areas and a post office. Many of the airlines provide comfortable executive lounges, often with business facilities and working areas.

Schiphol Airport has good facilities for disabled travellers at the airport and these include disabled toilets, lifts / elevators to all floors, automatic doors, telephones for people with hearing difficulties and low kerbside edging outside. There are also disabled parking spaces in all of the car parks and courtesy shuttle buses, bookable in advance, that run between parking area P3 and the main terminal building. It is advisable for disabled travellers to inform the airport of any special requirements prior to arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The information desk has further information about all of the disabled facilities currently provided.

Other Facilities


Other facilities at Schiphol include a medical centre with first aid facilities, open 24 hours a day, a pharmacy, showers, massages, art exhibitions, a prayer rooms, a casino, left luggage areas, luggage lockers, trolleys, a porter service and there is also a premium service for passengers wishing to avoid delays at check-in.
